60 Series Ball Valve | Product Test Reports

The 60 Series ball valve from Swagelok undergoes some of the toughest testing in the industry. We put this all-purpose ball valve into extreme situations and environments so it's ready for anything you can throw at it.

TEST METHOD (R62, R63, R65)
1. All of the valves were leak tested at 1000 psig (69.8 bar) prior to cycling to determine any seat and shell leakage.
2. All of the valves were assembled to a cycle test bench.
3. The valves were cycled at a rate of 2 cycles a minute. One complete cycle consists of a valve cycling from the fully closed to the fully open state and returning to the fully closed state.
4. The valves were cycled for 85,000 cycles with a 1000 psig (68.9 bar) blowdown. Seat and shell leak tests were conducted at 100, 1000, and 2500 cycles at which point the test increments were changed to every 2500 cycles.

Cycle Testing of Swagelok® R62, R63, and R65 Series Ball Valves

TEST METHOD (R68 SERIES)
1. All of the valves were leak tested at 1000 psig (68.9 bar) prior to cycling to make sure the valves met the seat and shell leakage acceptance criteria for an non-cycled valve.
2. All of the valves were assembled to a cycle test bench.
3. The valves were cycled at a rate of 2 cycles a minute. One complete cycle consists of a valve cycling from the fully closed to the fully open state and returning to the fully closed state.
4. The valves were cycled for 52,000 cycles with a 500 psig (34.4 bar) blowdown. Seat and shell leak tests were conducted at 100, 1000, and 2500 cycles at which point the test increments were changed to every 2500 cycles.
